True ASFP Stories

last year during CMJ me & ayomari ended up going to the roots studio while they were mixing Undun….we played ASFP for their manager just to press play, no reaction…he kinda brushed us off like, “yeah, whatever.”

then we ended up connecting with talib kweli at his hotel and we pressed play on him…and kweli kinda dissed us.  said something like, “whats up with all these niggas making this sappy lovey dovey hip hop bullshit??”

i was kinda upset and disappointed, had me questioning a lot of shit…

then it finally clicked in my head…

“cant worry bout what a nigga think now see, thats liberation and baby i want it.”
